As the United States Supreme Court begins its October term, involve students in the teaching and learning process. Interactive media, collaborative tools and access to mobile devices, such as an iPod Touch, puts content knowledge at their fingertips increasing their understanding of the Supreme Court and its impact on our laws and system of government.
This challenged based learning engages history and government students alike in understanding the functioning and history of the Court.
In this lesson the students will:
- Start with an essential question: What is the significance and role of the Supreme Court in our system of government?
- Be challenged to teach and learn about the Court's impact: Contribute to the understanding of the impact of the Supreme Court on our daily lives.
- Use creative technologies and interactive websites to meet learning objectives.
