Summary
Students will write a summary on the novel they just finished and create a podcast in Garageband.
Standards
Students will be working on their reading, writing, speaking, and technology standards.
Creating
Have each student read a different novel. After they have finished their book have them write a summary, hooking the reader into their story, but leaving out the climax. Once they have them written, have them practice with a partner, reading their summaries outloud.
Once their summary is complete, they will read them individually and record them into Garageband. A student can do the recording. Have each student record their summary into a seperate chapter

Assessment
Assess students in writing while working on their summaries: rough draft, editing, final copy. Speaking skills can also be assessed. Students will be able to listen to the summaries and choose novels that interest them.
