Teaching children science can be a challenging endeavor. While many would assume that teaching science requires only that you know your content and love kids, there is much more to helping children engage in science. This exhibit describes important aspects of an urban school site-based teacher education program, where preservice teachers explore children's thinking in order to plan their instruction. iMovie was the primary tool used for gathering children's ideas, modeling alternative strategies, recording and analyzing instruction, and documenting elementary teachers' reflection on practice.
