Introduction to River Studies
Welcome to "Rolling on the River!" At St. George's Independent School in Collierville, TN, we are conducting river studies in every discipline! Throughout these studies, we are focusing on creativity and 21st century skills.
We encourage you to collaborate with us (and other schools) in our river studies whether you live near a river, a stream, a lake, a pond, or the ocean! We look forward to learning about the body of water near you and sharing information with schools around the world. Join us as we go, "Rolling on the River!"
Favorite Places, Change Over Time, Taking Action, and Global Collaboration
How has the Wolf River (and its aquifers) changed over time throughout the years? What threatens the "health" of the river? What can be done to protect the Wolf River and assure its sustainability for the future? What other water resources around the world are being threatened and why? What are students in other parts of the world doing to protect their water resources? What can be done to protect the different bodies of water throughout the world and assure the sustainability of global water supplies?
These are some of the questions that are being addressed through interdisciplinary studies as St. George's students go "Rolling on the River!"
Essential Question(s)
- In what ways are rivers important: past, present, and future?
- How have rivers changed over time?
- What threatens rivers, and what actions can be taken to remedy the problems?
